Japanese fishing village…

All three posts feature the Japanese fishing village, Japan Dream Kenjin , which is chock full of places to take pictures. This outfit is pretty typical of Japanese designers, pretty, well textured and very wearable (Umi Usagi). Shoes are a new offering from JD Design. The necklace from A La Mood, which comes also with earrings. Hair corsage was featured in the last post (Lika Ruby) and is colour change. The cute hair style is from I Love Olive. I have been playing around with Gimp and some of the add-on, scripts and plug-ins. If you work at all with GIMP these extend the functionality of the program.

Pretty Flowers…

This post and the former one features a new skin from Rockberry called Lily, it is a very smooth and pretty skin with cleavage options included. Peony Corsage is texture change and shoes are from GField. Hair is a newer offering from Exile. Umi Usagi is a large store which is fairly representative of Japanese design, Doll type dresses, casual clothing, eyes, hair, Lolita,Fantasy and more. In Lika Ruby many of the designs are inspired by Chinese style.

Caught in a time flux….

Whenever I take a holiday, I return relaxed, refreshed and somewhat out of the loop as to what’s going on… This time it’s no exception. Which is why I am showing you over the next few posts a couple of dresses I picked up at the Tokyo Sim of the RFL Clothing Fair. Late though they be I thought them worthy of posting since Japanese designers don’t always get a lot of coverage in the western feeds. This dress reminds me of something one could wear on the Orient Express. The hat comes with hair included and there are a number of ways this dress could be worn.

Week33 - It’s Curious……

I can’t help walking into Curious Kitties without experiencing a big dose of nostalgia and affection. CK, along with Tete a Pied, Nyte and Day, and Artilleri, were the first stores I fell in love with in SL.(After I had left the noob hangouts and Businessinabox nightmares!) CK manages to mesh together Neko, Anime, Japanese, Fantasy, Streetwear into a truly uniquely designed product. The store itself hasn’t changed a lot since my first days but that’s because it’s beautifully laid out and matches the design sensibility of the clothes. I have found setting my windlight pretty bright helps the darkness and like a lot of big stores it can be a bit laggy, so I lower my graphics also. This week CK has been running a Tiki Present offer (50L to buy a present, limit of 2, I got the brown leather skirt and lovely Tribal skin), a sale (10-50% off selected items) , a present tree (I received jewellery), and a Lucky Kitty Draw. One of the things I have always loved about the store is that prices range from under 100L for a top to over 1000L for a whole ensemble including shoes. This allows you to shop, come back later and match items which you may have bought a while ago. The store offers, clothes, accessories, shoes, skins, and hair. I own a number of the skirts which are lovely but need to be finessed a little for fitting.

Week 241/2 - Those Discordant Wales...

Shopping in SL sometimes gets mundane because one tends to shop in much the same places after a while. Of course I scan the feeds for new products as well as keep up with the groups and chatter. Because RL has been so demanding lately of my time and attention I have only been keeping only one eye open. I remembered seeing a few pairs of baggy pants advertised but completely forgot where I had seen them. After getting some suggestions I went shopping...
I didn't find the pants I had seen but found a couple of really cool stores. Discord is a store I have been in before. I bought an AO there but never stayed to check out the other products.
Discord is similar in many ways to Bare Rose. It is large and can be laggy. The clothes and other products are very reasonably priced. Clothes range from Fantasy to Funky to Japanese . And there are some wonderful prim hairs again at really good prices. I bought several Hairstyles and 2 outfits and a pretty funky Bunny which is colourchange at 50L. I will be returning later to check out more clothes and boots! The boots are from Lazy places and support the Victoria Relief Fund. The skin was from Fleur as part of the Vain Kiss hunt. (I am rediscovering Fleur as Tete a Pied was the first store I walked into in SL as a noob and went "I want...") The makeups for this skin are wonderful for photography. Week21 - The Same Dammed thing....

I admit it I am wearing the same dammed thing as everyone else........

Blame Achariya and her Viral Meme's!! Many years ago when an Art Student, we would all be given basically the same assignment. Amazingly, the scope and variety in the Artwork was always unique. I must admit that lately my interest in fashion has been a bit meh..and eh..but only because I have been playing around with new things, Windlight and making my own poses.
(have no fear pose creators..my poses are terrible..) Truely my pictures are moving in a new and different direction and though my blogging has suffered I am hoping to see real results to share in future posts....

Shelby in Harajukubox City, and Neko stuff...Week 6

I have always been a big fan of the Japanese sims. I love the overall design, immersive feel (ie. like you are there.. in a real place) as well I love the different way that Japanese Designers see fashion, and reflect culture and influence this world and the RL world. Neko fashion is unusual because it really doesn't have any counterpart in the real world. It is something of a SL phenomenon stemming from Manga and Anime colliding with streetwear and an urban punk sensibility.
I have always resisted its charms mainly because it is so accessory driven and needs all the right elements to make it work. Today I decided to show you the look I came up with before touring Harajukubox City, a Japanese Neko and Streetwear Shopping Sim. Items came from various old and new Items from my inventory.

This Sim has everything for your little Neko; Accessories, Boots (or feet), Tails, Hair, Skins, clothes and there was quite a variety for the male Neko as well. I bought a hair from Androgeny which I was able to tint slightly to match the Kitty parts I had bought from the Sn@tch sale which is going on right now. Stores in HC include; Little Heaven, Kyoot, Electro Kitty, Androgeny, Canimal, Eat Rice and Neko Gear. There are also some Anime and Japanese Schoolgirl looks in Edelweiss and some of the other shops which are in the area.
